The story behind STOMAS

I lost my voice.
But I am still me.

This is a story about finding my feet again. About humour, hope and discovering that life can still be good, even when it turns out differently from what I had planned.

Chapter 1

Some days stay with you forever.

Some moments divide life into before and after.

For me, it was the day I received the news that changed everything.

Suddenly, my days revolved around getting through the next day. Plans, work and dreams for the future had to wait.

“I lost my voice. But I kept my joy in life.”

Chapter 2

When my voice disappeared.

After the operation, the silence was almost the most overwhelming part.

I had to learn a completely new way to communicate with other people, and even with myself.

It took time. And it took patience.

Chapter 3

The humour stayed.

Humour has never taken away the seriousness of it all.

It has made it easier to carry.

I have found that a smile often opens more doors than the most carefully chosen words.

Chapter 4

This is why STOMAS exists.

There is more to the story than illness.

STOMAS is about people.

About hope. About finding the courage to live. About finding a new path when life takes an unexpected turn.

If one person leaves with a little more hope than they arrived with, the talk has done exactly what I hoped it would.

Would you like me to share my story with your audience?

Every audience is different. The story stays the same, and I always tailor the talk to the people in front of me.
